Honey-Sweet and Unique Yellow Figs!

If you’ve never had a fig that’s freshly-picked, still warm from the sun, you’re missing out. Here’s your chance to grow your very own figs, no matter where you live, with this Yellow Fig Tree.

Fresh figs are one of the sweetest and oldest fruits on the planet, and the Yellow Fig Tree tops the charts in terms of flavor. A mouth-watering combination of textures and flavors makes each fruit super delicious. Firm and tart skin paired with melted, soft flesh packed with a warm honey-sweetness – is there anything better?

And the Yellow Fig Tree is packed with benefits:

  • Great for container growing: If you get more than a light freeze, simply plant your Yellow Fig Tree in a container and bring it in during the coldest months.

  • Extremely hardy and resistant: With 6,000 years of growth under its belt, the Yellow Fig is a very sturdy tree that grows in almost any condition and is immune to diseases and pests.

  • Double harvest: The Yellow Fig Tree produces fruit in July and September, so you’ll never run out of delicious figs to eat!

Figs are incredibly easy to grow, making them ideal for the novice gardener. And since you can plant them in a container, no matter where you live, there’s no excuse for not having these scrumptious dessert fruits in your life. The Yellow Fig is a highly-desired fig, so make sure to order yours today before they’re sold out!

Planting & Care

Plant your Yellow Fig tree in a hole twice as wide and nearly as deep as the root’s ball. You’ll need to place it in a sunny spot in your yard that is protected from winter winds. You can also plant your Yellow Fig in a container and bring it inside when it gets cold. When you’re done planting, add 2″ of compost mulch extending out 4″ from the base of the tree. Water immediately after planting and allow the water to soak all the way down to the base of the hole.

Watering: You’ll need to frequently water your Yellow Fig until it is established. Pull back the mulch and feel the soil. If it is dry, you should water the tree. Once your tree is established, you can water every week or every 2 weeks in milder weather.

Fertilization: There’s no need to fertilize your fig tree if you plant it in your garden. Instead, renew the compost mulch every month between spring and fall.

Pruning: Prune back any dead or diseased branches after the second harvest in summer or fall. Established trees should not require very much pruning at all.

Harvesting: Use gloves when harvesting your figs as the tree produced a latex that is irritating to skin. Your Yellow figs need to ripen on the tree. They will be ready to eat when they are easily plucked from the tree. Do not allow the fruit to rot on the tree, as this will encourage pests. Harvested fruit should be eaten immediately or refrigerated for no longer than 2 days. If you do not plan on eating your fresh fruit, you can dry it in the sun for 5 days or in a dehydrator for 12 hours. Dried figs will stay fresh for 6-8 months.
